Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council
to Host Western PA Turf Conference
and Trade Show
The Pennsylvania Turfgrass
Council (PTC) will host its annual
Western Pennsylvania Turf Conference and Trade Show from Tuesday,
March 6 through Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Greater Pittsburgh
ExpoMart & Radisson Hotel, Monroeville.
Conference
speakers will include the industry’s top experts who will
highlight innovations and the latest research in turfgrass management.
Pesticide update training required for certified pesticide applicator
license renewal will be awarded for attendance at specified educational
sessions. Throughout the day on Tuesday, March 6, and Wednesday,
March 7, registrants can also attend the trade show featuring nearly
100 suppliers to the industry displaying the latest innovations
in supplies, equipment and technology.
Tuesday’s conference
program includes concurrent tracks on general interest issues and
topics of interest to golf course management. Wednesday’s
three concurrent tracks are for turf concerns related to golf courses,
grounds maintenance, and athletics fields. On Thursday there is
a single general session with three topics, highlighted by a question
and answer session with a representative from the Pennsylvania
Department of Agriculture.
Conference sessions will be augmented
this year with specialized training
for mechanics who work on turf equipment and golf turf managers.
The two-hour Mechanics Workshop will be held on Tuesday beginning
at 9:00 a.m. with Dr. Aaron Yoder, Penn State, moderating a session
that features new products and a question and answer sessions with
local distributors. The latest in practices will be presented in
the Golf Turf Management Workshop on Tuesday from 2 – 4 pm
and features Paul Latshaw, Sr.
